Music On The Verge (MOTV) is conducting a music composition camp allowing up to 10 students to try their hand at composing an original piece of music for string quartet based on an excerpt from the book James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. Students will get to work with their own personal composer mentor and study scores from popular movies to learn how to tell a story through music.
The Camp Includes:
• A viewing of printed scores from popular movies such as Wall-E and Batman
• Live recordings and score copies for each participant
• Live performance of the student compositions for friends, family and colleagues
The workshop will culminate with a live performance of each student’s piece by a professional string quartet for friends and family.
• Camp Dates – August 11-14 from 7:00-9:00pm, concert on August 16 at 8:00pm
