Rock Out This Summer!

Summer is just around the corner and now is the time to start looking for some fun activities to keep the kids busy and entertained! This is the perfect time to take music lessons, join a group music class, or participate in a musical summer camp. See what options are available in Santa Clarita this summer:

1. Beginning Music Group Classes  – Group classes are a great option for young children and beginning music students. Learning in a group is fun and allows students to progress together by keeping up with fellow classmates. Group classes typically run 45-min to 90-min, meeting once per week throughout the summer. Classes often conclude with a performance showcase for family and friends so you can show off your newly discovered musical talent!
2. Summer Camps – A variety of summer camps are offered in the Santa Clarita Valley for singing, acting, instrument playing, composing, and more. These are extended learning days that can last a few days to a few weeks. Join with a friend, or make new ones! Summer Camps are full of energy, creativity, and gives you a jump-start to learning something new and having FUN doing it!
3. Private Lessons – If you already play and instrument, you might already be taking private lessons. If not, this is the perfect time to get started. Students have plenty time to practice in the summer since school is out (no homework!), and can make tremendous progress on their instrument. Take advantage of this time to develop your technique, learn new repertoire, or prepare for auditions and competitions.
4. Musical Ensembles – Music Ensembles are groups of musicians who play together. This can be anything from a garage band to a symphony orchestra.  Whatever style music you like or instrument you play, there is a group for you! Put together a summer band or join an existing one. Playing in a group is one of the most enjoyable, satisfying, and memorable experiences you can have. Have your band play at the summer block party barbeque!
