Special Guest Artist Recital
Derek Chiu & Roberto Cani
In February, we were honored to host an exceptional guest artist recital featuring Steinway Artist Derek Chiu and Roberto Cani, Concertmaster of the Los Angeles Opera. Their performance was a masterclass in musical communication, artistry, and collaboration.
The evening offered our students and families a rare opportunity to experience professional-level musicianship up close and to hear what is possible through dedication, refinement, and a deep respect for the craft.
We were deeply saddened to learn that Roberto Cani passed away shortly after this performance, on April 9, 2025. We are incredibly grateful to have shared this special evening with him and will remember his artistry, generosity, and profound musical legacy.
New Music for Little Mozarts Classes Began
February also marked the start of new Music for Little Mozarts classes! It has been a joy welcoming our youngest musicians and their families as they begin their musical journeys through movement, storytelling, singing, and piano exploration.
These early experiences lay the foundation for confidence, focus, and a lifelong connection to music.

Sarah’s musical journey is a beautiful example of long-term commitment and growth. Through consistent study and dedication, she has developed strong musicianship skills while balancing learning both in person and through remote lessons.
Her story reflects how thoughtful instruction and perseverance can lead to meaningful progress over time.
