Growth, Leadership, and Music Beyond the Classroom
April was a month filled with growth, connection, and powerful reminders of why music education matters so deeply. From national performances and community outreach to personal milestones, our students and staff experienced music as something far bigger than lessons alone.

Events & School News
Spring Break (April 7–13)
Spring Break gave students a well-earned pause from their regular schedules. For many, it was a chance to recharge, listen to music, explore new ideas, and return refreshed. Breaks are not about stopping, they’re about preparing for what’s next.
WorldStrides Heritage Festival – Hollywood
April marked a huge milestone for Jukebox Kids, who attended their first WorldStrides Heritage Festival in Hollywood!
The band delivered a strong, confident performance and received thoughtful feedback from professional clinicians. One parent shared:
“It was amazing to hear the difference after they received the clinician’s comments, they’re already improving!”
Beyond the performance, students demonstrated exceptional teamwork, positive attitudes, and professionalism, earning the festival’s Spirit Award, the only one awarded that day.
🎉 Special congratulations to Director Matt Fullove.
Years ago, Matt questioned whether band directing was the right path for him. Today, he leads an award-winning group of students who genuinely love playing music together. This moment was a powerful reflection of growth, for both teacher and students.
Students also enjoyed time at Universal Studios and a formal awards ceremony, making the experience both educational and unforgettable.

Guitars 4 Vets – Music as Healing
This month, Frank Browne completed a complimentary 10-lesson program at Little School of Music through the Guitars 4 Vets nonprofit.
This meaningful outreach program supports veterans through music, providing connection, purpose, and healing. We are proud to be a space where music is used not only to teach, but to serve.
A Very Special Personal Milestone
April also brought a joyful personal celebration for our community.
💗 Congratulations to Grandpa Frank!
Frank Browne welcomed his granddaughter, Alana Pauline Browne (Lana), born on April 13, 2025. Moments like these remind us that Little School of Music is built on relationships, family, and shared joy, both on and off the stage.

A Journey of Growth, Leadership, and Community at Little School of Music
This article reflects on how music education shapes leadership, resilience, and a sense of belonging, both for students and teachers.

April reminded me how powerful music becomes when it moves beyond the classroom.
Whether it’s students stepping onto a national stage, teachers finding confidence in leadership, or music being used as a form of healing, these experiences shape who our students become, not just as musicians, but as people.
Thank you to our families for trusting the process, supporting consistency, and showing up week after week. These moments of growth are built together, and I’m so grateful to share them with you.
With appreciation,
