Little School of Music 2025 Highlights

A Year of Growth, Connection, and Meaningful Music

As we look back on 2025, it’s hard to summarize the year with a single word. It was full. Full of music, milestones, growth, and moments that reminded us why we do this work in the first place.

At Little School of Music, we believe music education is about much more than learning notes and songs. It’s about development, belonging, discipline, confidence, and connection. This year reflected all of that. On stages big and small, in classrooms, in our community, and in the lives of the students and families we serve.

From Our Community to the World

2025 took our students far beyond the studio.

In January, we celebrated a truly extraordinary achievement as Erica and Prabhtej performed at Carnegie Hall, representing Little School of Music as Royal Conservatory of Music National Gold Medalists. Moments like these are powerful reminders that consistent, thoughtful music education can open doors students never imagined walking through.

In the spring, Little School of Music teachers brought the 4 Laws of Focus assembly to elementary schools throughout the community. Students learned how music can help strengthen focus at school, with friends, and at home, connecting musical skills to everyday life in meaningful ways.

Later in the year, our rock band Jukebox Kids performed at the WorldStrides Heritage Festival in Hollywood, earning high honors and demonstrating not only musical excellence, but teamwork, professionalism, and character on a national stage.

Throughout the year, students also participated in Royal Conservatory of Music exams during both summer and winter sessions, another example of goal-oriented learning built on strong foundations and long-term commitment.

In September, we were honored to be voted “Best Music School in Santa Clarita 2025” by The Signal, a testament to the trust our community places in our teachers, programs, and educational philosophy.

Stages Big and Small, And All Equally Important

Performing is an essential part of learning music, and 2025 was rich with opportunities for students to share their music with others.

Throughout the year, we hosted and participated in:

  • Little School of Music Seasonal School Recitals (4 total)
  • Legacy Artist Recital
  • Royal Conservatory of Music Exams
  • Rockschool Recording Sessions
  • MTAC Music Competitions and Recitals
  • Southern California Jr. Bach Festival
  • Federation of Music Clubs Festivals and Recitals

Students also performed throughout the community at local venues, schools, and special events, from Pocock Brewing Company and elementary school rock band performances, to legendary stages like the Whisky A Go Go, where our rock bands Jukebox Kids, Crazy Crew, and Saturn took the stage.

Every performance matters.

Whether it’s a first recital in front of family or a world-class stage under bright lights, each experience builds confidence, courage, and connection, and reminds students that their music has a place in the world.

Early Beginnings & Growing Pathways

2025 also brought new beginnings.

We launched new Music for Little Mozarts classes in February and August, and welcomed many families through our Intro Programs during summer and late summer sessions. Watching young children take their first musical steps (alongside their parents) continues to be one of the most meaningful parts of what we do.

In November, some of our youngest students even experienced live orchestral music at Walt Disney Concert Hall, reinforcing that music education isn’t confined to the lesson room, it’s a lived experience.

Community, Outreach, and Heart

Music connects us, especially during meaningful moments.

This year included community outreach performances at senior living facilities, where students shared music with residents and experienced firsthand how powerful their gift can be.

We also held a special recital featuring Derek Chiu and Roberto Cani in February. Sadly, Roberto passed away shortly after. His recital became a moment of remembrance, gratitude and love, allowing music to honor a life and legacy in the most human way possible.

Legacy, Leadership, and Growth

2025 marked a major milestone as Little School of Music celebrated 20 years of serving students and families. Two decades of music education is not built overnight. It is built lesson by lesson, relationship by relationship—through trust, consistency, and a shared belief in the long-term value of learning music well.

In May, we honored this milestone with one of the most meaningful events in our school’s history: the Little School of Music Legacy Artist Recital. This special evening featured 10 exceptional students whose journeys reflect what is possible through sustained commitment, thoughtful instruction, and a supportive musical community.

Each Legacy Artist was celebrated not just for their accomplishments, but for who they have become through music—leaders, collaborators, and confident young musicians. Every student was awarded a gold record, symbolizing years of dedication, growth, and perseverance.

What made the evening especially unforgettable was the presence of my very first music teacher, Miss Susie, making the moment deeply personal and profoundly full-circle. It was a powerful reminder that music education is generational. The impact of one teacher can ripple forward for decades, shaping not only musicians, but entire communities.

Alongside student milestones, 2025 also brought important professional and institutional growth. I completed the rigorous process of becoming a Royal Conservatory of Music Examiner, deepening my understanding of assessment standards, pedagogy, and long-term student development through the refined lens of the RCM. This perspective continues to inform how we guide students, mentor teachers, and maintain high educational standards across all programs.

In November, we proudly launched our new Little School of Music website, creating a clearer, more informative experience for families exploring music education and for those already part of our community. The updated site reflects who we are today—our values, our programs, and our commitment to thoughtful, developmentally appropriate music education.

Together, these moments—past, present, and future—define what Legacy means at Little School of Music.
Not just achievements reached, but lives shaped along the way.

Personal Moments That Made the Year Complete

Music schools are built by people and this year included moments worth celebrating beyond the classroom.

In May, Frank became a grandpa and celebrated 10 years at Little School of Music! In July, I got married, and in September we celebrated Armando’s wedding as well (on Matt’s Birthday!) Miss Brianna also celebrated 10 years at Little School of Music and Justin Haase was our Teacher of the Year! These moments remind us that growth, joy, and connection extend beyond music and into life itself.

Looking Ahead to 2026

2025 reminded us that music education isn’t about rushing, comparing, or shortcuts. It’s about showing up, staying curious, and growing over time together.

As we move into the next year, we carry forward everything this year taught us: the importance of consistency, community, and meaningful experiences that shape students far beyond the notes on the page.

We’re excited about what’s taking shape behind the scenes for 2026, including new ways to connect, learn, and experience music together, both in and beyond the classroom.

You may even see things like themed music experiences (Little School of Music Goes to the Movies!), expanded online communities, and new course options emerge as the year unfolds.

As always, we’ll roll things out thoughtfully, at the right time, and with the same care we bring to every part of our programs.

Thank you to our students, families, teachers, and community partners for making 2025 a year to remember. We can’t wait to continue the journey with you.
