2026 Teacher of the Year: Frank Browne

Those Who Help Us Become

Artistic Director · LSM Faculty Since 2015

Honoring Frank Browne, 2026 Teacher of the Year

Every student’s story begins with someone who believes in them. A teacher.

Someone who sees possibility before it becomes confidence. Someone who offers encouragement before there is certainty. Someone who quietly walks beside a student, lesson after lesson, helping them discover not only what they can do, but who they can become.

This year, as we celebrate the remarkable journeys of our Senior Artists and Legacy Artists, we also celebrate one of the teachers who helped make those journeys possible.

Frank Browne.

Frank joined Little School of Music to help with a senior high school guitar group ensemble class, bringing with him exceptional musicianship, a love for teaching, and a genuine ability to connect with students. From the very beginning, his lessons became about more than learning chords, scales, or songs. He had a gift for helping students believe in themselves.

Many of the Legacy Artists featured throughout this book have spent years learning from Frank. They performed their first recitals with him, joined their first rock bands under his direction, stepped onto community stages, played at the Whisky a Go Go, competed in festivals, and discovered confidence they never knew they had.

Along the way, Frank was there. Encouraging. Listening. Challenging. Celebrating. Believing.

As Little School of Music continued to grow, so did Frank. He became the Lead Guitar Instructor in 2024. This year marked an exciting new chapter as he stepped into the role of Artistic Director. It was a role he embraced with enthusiasm, humility, and an unwavering commitment to the students, teachers, and culture of Little School of Music.

Leadership, however, has never been about a title. It has always been about people. Frank has become a trusted mentor to our teaching staff, helping support new instructors, train apprentice teachers, and create an environment where collaboration, creativity, and excellence continue to flourish. He leads with patience, generosity, and a willingness to serve wherever he is needed.

And perhaps that is his greatest contribution. Because teaching is one of the few professions where your legacy is carried forward by other people. Every student you inspire carries a piece of your teaching into the future. Every teacher you mentor will someday encourage students of their own. The music continues. The teaching continues. The legacy continues.

For Miss Mindy, watching Frank’s journey has been one of the greatest joys of building Little School of Music.

“When Frank first joined our school, I knew he was an exceptional teacher. What I couldn’t have imagined was the leader he would become. Over the years, I’ve watched him pour his heart into his students, celebrate their victories, encourage them through challenges, and help them grow into remarkable young musicians and people. Today, I also have the privilege of watching him invest that same care into our teachers. One of the greatest gifts a teacher can receive is the opportunity to help another teacher grow. That’s how a legacy continues. Frank isn’t simply teaching guitar anymore. He’s helping shape the future of music education at Little School of Music, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have him walking beside us.”

Those who know Frank know his musicianship. Those who work with Frank know his leadership. But everyone who spends time with him comes to know something even more important. His heart. It is a heart that celebrates others before itself. A heart that serves quietly. A heart that believes every student deserves to be seen, encouraged, and given the opportunity to grow.

The Teacher of the Year Award recognizes excellence in teaching. But more importantly, it recognizes someone who has dedicated himself to helping others become who they are meant to be.

Congratulations, Frank. Thank you for believing in our students. Thank you for investing in our teachers. Thank you for leading with humility, generosity, and joy. And thank you for helping Little School of Music continue becoming the place we have always dreamed it could be.

Your legacy is already being written. And through every student you inspire, every teacher you encourage, and every life you touch…

…it will continue for generations to come. ♥️
